Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band - The Chain

Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band - The Chain
by Vee (Mystic Rock Boutique)

Wait a minute baby,
Stay with me awhile...
Said you'd give me light
But you never told me about the fire.

Drownin', in the sea of love
Where everyone would love to drown.

Lyrics: Sara - Fleetwood Mac

I just discovered this tribute band from Pittsburg, PA 'The Chain'& If you love Fleetwood Mac you're going to be delighted with The Chain. I'm a big fan of good music like Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Pink Floyd to name a few of my favorite bands. Fleetwood Mac was a band that had great popular songs on the radio that I liked & considered by most people as a great band with great musicians. This band 'The Chain' does Fleetwood Mac justice. The vocals are superb and the musicians do an excellent job covering the songs pretty much spot on. I'm really impressed with Kimmy (Stevie Nicks), her vocals are so close to the real Stevie it's unbelievable!!

The band is made up of 6 musicians/artists, all dressed just like Fleetwood Mac!

Founder - Jim (Doc) Stamps - Mick Fleetwood, Drums/Percussion
Kimmy Scholl - Stevie Nicks Lead Singer
Rob Gamerro - John McVie Bass
Sandy Anderson - Christine McVie Keyboards & Vocals
Keith Cole - Jeremy Spencer Guitar & vocals
Tony Acker - Lindsey Buckingham Guitar & Vocals

They have been playing together since 1991 as a cover band called 'Harder Edge' playing all sorts of classic rock songs. During that time the lead singer Kimmy and drummer Jim/Doc always had people saying to them that they looked like & sounded like Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood, so after so many comments to that effect they decided to try doing strictly a Fleetwood Mac tribute and in less than a years time they're getting gigs all over and being recognized as a great Fleetwood Mac tribute band.

Their shows sell out quick!! They play all the great Fleetwood Mac songs like Sara, The Chain, Gold Dust Woman, Gypsy, to many to name! At the end of their shows they pick like about a dozen people in the audience and give away their CD as a token of their appreciation for supporting the band. Their wish is to make Fleetwood Mac come ALIVE for the fans, make fans happy, have fun, & just enjoy the tunes. If you have a chance to catch one of their shows go and check them out!

The Moody Blues Videos

From the album Days of Future Passed

The Moody Blues - Dawn is a feeling...

Dawn is a feeling, a beautiful ceiling,
The smell of grass just makes you pass into a dream.
You're here today, no future fears,
This day will last a thousand years.
If you want it to.

You look around you, things they astound you,
So breathe in deep, you're not asleep open your mind.
You're here today, no future fears,
This day will last a thousand years,
If you want it to.

Do you understand that all over this land there's a feeling?
In minds far and near, things are becoming clear with a meaning.

Now that you're knowing, pleasure starts flowing,
It's true life flies, faster than eyes could ever see.
You're here today, no future fears,
This day will last a thousand years,
If you want it to.

Pink Floyd Stay With EMI

Pink Floyd To Stay With EMI
By VVN Music

The executives at EMI and their shareholders must be giving a big sigh of relief. After a couple of years that saw the loss of Paul McCartney, Queen, Radiohead and the Rolling Stones, the company has finally been able to re-sign one of their flagship acts, Pink Floyd. The group has inked a new five-year deal with the label.

EMI group CEO Roger Faxon said in a statement "Pink Floyd are one of the most important and influential bands of all time and I know I speak for everyone at EMI when I say that it is a privilege to have the opportunity to work with them. We're looking forward to continuing to help the band reach new and existing fans through their incredible body of work."

Part of the new deal negates an earlier court ruling that EMI could not sell Pink Floyd albums as individual tracks. The ruling stated that they were only allowed to sell them in the digital marketplace as complete albums to preserve the integrity of the albums.

The financial world, though, is not as positive on the deal as they still feel that EMI is at risk of defaulting and being taken over by Citigroup. EMI owner Guy Hands needs to find $155 million by March 31 to meet financial obligations.

Ringo Starr Home Could Be Saved

Ringo Starr Home Could Be Saved By Minister
By Paul Cashmere

A British minister has intervened to try and stop Ringo Starr’s childhood home from being demolished.

Last month, Liverpool Council gave the okay to pull down the house at 9 Madryn Street as part of an upgrade of buildings in the area.

Now Housing Minister Grant Shapps is speaking up for the Beatle fans and backing the historical value of the house.

The terrace house is located in the Dingle area of Liverpool. Shapps has asked the Liverpool council to postpone the demolition until alternative plans are considered. The request is purely a token gesture. If they refuse, then his department has the power to over-turn their decision.

However, this could cause a political time bomb for the area. Council did consult residents before making the decision and the majority of local residents want the property torn down.

Ringo was born at the house in 1940. It was built around 1919.

Under council plans, 445 terrace houses in the area are to be torn down. Ringo only lived at the property as a small child. His family moved to nearby Admiral Grove soon after he was born. That house still remains.

The childhood homes of the other Beatles are popular tourist destinations in Liverpool. John Lennon grew up at 251 Menlove Avenue, Paul McCartney at 20 Forthlin Road and George Harrison at 12 Arnold Grove.

The Lennon and McCartney homes are now heritage and run by the National Trust, George’s childhood home is still a private residence.

(Time will tell if Ringo's home stays or gets torn down. I guess as long as one of the houses that Ringo lived in stays around will be fine since he only lived in it for so little and the one he actually grew up at is not going to be torned down.)
