No Gilmour at Glastonbury

David Gilmour Not Snubbed By Glastonbury Boss

by Paul Cashmere - June 3 2008

A report suggesting that Glastonbury Festival boss Michael Eavis snubbed a request from Pink Floyd's David Gilmour at this year's Glastonbury Festival by The Sun was not accurate.

The Sun reported that Gilmour contacted Eavis directly and offered to perform 'Dark Side Of The Moon' in its entirety at this year's festival. Eavis confirms that that part of the story is true.

However, he was not able to accommodate the Gilmour offer as the line-up for the festival had already been locked in and published. It is now also less than a month away until the Festival.

Eavis emailed The Sun to say "We've got a wonderful line-up and I couldn't bump one of the artists off, even for him. Hopefully we'll be able to arrange it for another year."

Glastonbury will take place between July 27 and 29. Jay-Z is this year's headline act. Just a few weeks ago, it was also announced that Amy Winehouse will perform at the festival.

{ What a bummer, I'd make room for Gilmour anyday! I think it was a mistake on their part, as Gilmour would have brought in even more to the Festival. Hopefully he will want to do it next year. David come to the states we'd make room for you! }
