When You Can't Find Band Merchandise

I'm often asked if I can get this or that band's merchandise. Let me give you an insiders view.

If a band is underground or too new or isn't that popular or they just don't have that mass appeal yet, suppliers don't make the merchandise. Not until a band becomes more main stream, will suppliers make band merchandise that they know will sell. Also not all tees come in a full range of sizes. Some only come in Large and X-Large. Reasoning would be that most people will fit in either of those sizes, give or take.

So when you love a band that is still small time your best bet is their own website because the band themselves will have some products made for their hard core fans.

We are always on the look out for what our customers want and the best way for us to get what YOU want is to ask us....send us an email and let us know what you are looking for. We will try to help you locate that tee that you just can't live without. If we can get it for you we will definitely let you know, but if we can't we will try and refer you to where you might be able to get that desired piece.

For Plant, Zeppelin Was First Chaper

The Register-Guard, Eugene, Oregon, USA

Robert Plant needs little introduction.

Sure, he was the lead singer for Led Zeppelin, one of the greatest rock bands of all time. The shrieking falsetto that he perfected is one of the iconic sounds of the 1970s.

It's been 25 years since Led Zeppelin split up. So what has Plant done for us lately?

He tours, releases new albums, is out there enjoying himself and we Plant fans love it!!

Jimmy Page Honorary Citizenship In Rio Europe

Sept. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Rock guitarist Jimmy Page, founder of the band Led Zeppelin, was awarded honorary citizenship in the state of Rio de Janeiro for his work with Brazil's poor and abandoned children.

``I was visiting 20 years later to promote a record and at the time there was a lot of trouble in the favelas,'' Page said yesterday in an interview, using the Portuguese word for Rio's mountainside shantytowns. ``The whole gravity of the situation hit me and I decided I wanted to try to do something to help.''

Great that he wants and is able to help Brazilian children and if he looked even further he'd see that all the children in South America live in poverty, maybe his trust fund should be to help children of South America.

Jimi Hendrix's Seattle home saved from demolition - Yahoo! News

Jimi Hendrix's Seattle home saved from demolition - Yahoo! News

The one-time boyhood home of legendary rock guitarist Jimi Hendrix has been spared demolition and moved to a new location, the head of the James Marshall Hendrix Foundation said on Tuesday.

The one-story structure, covered in graffiti, was moved this week to a mobile home park in Renton, a city just south of Seattle, and across the street from the cemetery where Hendrix is buried.

{ This is nice to hear, they can turn the home into a nice Hendrix museum.}

Pink Floyd Inductee to UK Music Hall of Fame

Pink Floyd Inductee to UK Music Hall of Fame

Channel 4 and Initial has announced that legendary rock group Pink Floyd will be among this year's inductees to the UK Music Hall of Fame.

David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Roger Waters and Rick Wright will all attend the live UK Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony to be held in November. It will be only the second time in almost a quarter of a century that the whole group has appeared on stage together

Pink Floyd is without doubt one of the greatest rock bands of all time and among the most successful. They achieved legendary status with albums like The Wall and 1973's The Dark Side Of The Moon, which is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for being on the charts longer than any other album in history - racking up a staggering 1352 weeks on the Billboard chart.

Pink Floyd have been selected for induction by the UK Music Hall of Fame Steering Group - a panel comprising over 60 respected artists, music journalists, broadcasters and music industry executives.

{So glad this is happening to the Floyd, they deserve it and more. Hopefully we can get the boys to play a little :) }

Roger Waters Releases Opera

Waters releases opera record after successful Pink Floyd reunion at Live 8
KEITH LESLIE Sun Sep 11, 6:05 PM ET

TORONTO (CP) - For Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters, getting together with his former bandmates after more than 20 years for London's Live 8 concert was a lot of fun, but don't expect to see a reunited band tour or release another album.

"What's not fun about being adored?" Waters chuckled during a telephone interview from London with The Canadian Press.

"It's a terrific feeling, and it was great to be up on stage with Dave and Nick and Rick again as well."

Waters is following the hugely successful Pink Floyd reunion, by all accounts the standout performance of all the Live 8 shows, by going in a completely different direction with his new album, Ca Ira, a two-CD opera based on the French Revolution.

The new record, which will be in stores Sept. 27, will debut in a concert performance in Rome on Nov. 17, and Waters hopes to also perform it in North America if financing can be arranged.

Even though it's been 13 years since the release of his last studio album, Amused to Death, Waters said he has continued to write rock songs and has two possible albums in the works, although he doesn't plan to record or tour again with Pink Floyd.

"I think that's very, very, very unlikely," he said.

"I can see us playing together again, but I think it would be some other event like that (Live 8) where we do a few songs or maybe even more than a few songs, but no, I don't think the tour's going to happen."

As for the long break between new records, the 61-year-old Waters admitted he'd been gone a long time, but said he went through a divorce, found a new love, moved from England to New York and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

"I really like to fly fish (and) I like to play golf as well," he said.

"There's more to life than rock 'n' roll."

{Hmm I suppose there is more to life than rock n roll, but it's high on the top of MY list :) Glad Rog had fun with the boys on stage and that we got to see that performance live, but being a Floyd fan and him saying that he doesn't plan to record with the rest of the boys or tour with them makes me a bit sad. Let's see how his "Opera" goes }

Color Change on Mystic Rock's Catalog Pages

Changed the color of Mystic Rock's Catalog Pages to grey instead of black. Let's see if my customers like it. A couple of people did tell me that with the black it was hard to see the font, so maybe this will help. I myself do like the black look, but if more people can see the products better with a different color then that's the way to go :)

The Sound of Originality

The Shorthorn Online | Opinion | The Sound of Originality

We live in a society of music ruled by the pop star and the pop band. It seems like the main goal for musicians today is to do as little work as possible in order to get paid. With bands like Good Charlotte and Simple Plan and rappers like Nelly and 50 Cent, we are stuck in an era of, well, effortless music.

My main complaint is that I think artists need to go back to the days when they made music because they loved it and not because they wanted to be rich. I think standing on a stage and having a crowd of thousands of people feeling what you’ve created is a priceless experience. Artists need to play music for themselves and the fans, not the record company executives looking to cash in on their success. It’s time to bring originality back to our music.

{Exactly how I feel....artist should be making music they love and sharing it with their audience and if it's good music it will sell!!! Look at all the gone by bands of my day...Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, these bands didn't do it the way their record companies wanted, they did it their way, showed their individuality and the fans of those bands are still fans today. How many fans do you think Britney Spears will have in say 15 years, will her fans now still be fans?}

DVD release for Live 8

Ananova - DVD release for Live 8

Live 8 is set to be released on a four-disc DVD on November 7.

It will feature sets from U2, Muse, Scissor Sisters, Robbie Williams , Madonna, Elton John, Coldplay, REM, Pink Floyd, Dido, Paul McCartney and Keane, reports

The band I'd buy this for is Pink Floyd. Personally I think the London Hyde Park show was the best of the whole thing.

Pink Floyd turned down 136m

Ananova - Pink Floyd turned down 136m

Roger Waters has revealed that Pink Floyd turned down £136 million to reunite for one last tour.

I guess you can't say Floyd is as money hungry as the Stones.

Fats Domino Rescued Sep 02 2005

(Associated Press) Fats Domino apparently rode out the hurricane in his New Orleans home and was rescued by boat from his flooded neighborhood, his daughter Karen Domino White said Thursday. The 77-year-old rock ‘n' roll legend had been reported missing September 1 by his longtime agent, Al Embry, and his niece, Checquoline Davis.
