New Black Sabbath Bootleg Emerges
By Andrew Tijs
An unreleased live bootleg of ‘Hand Of Doom’ from 1970 has found its way onto the ‘net.
The Metal Den reports that the recording from a soundboard during an early Sabbath gig has never been circulated in the four decades of its existence.
It’s a surprisingly clear recording of ‘Hand Of Doom’, from their 1970 metal landmark Paranoid.
It was posted on YouTube by a user who regularly uploads old metal recordings.
The user, Sid777rock suggests that its provenance is unknown, but a commenter claims that the voice at the end of the performance is Claude Nobs, organiser of Switzerland’s Montreux Jazz Festival.
According to a setlist posted on the net, the band did play the Casino De Montreux on August 31 in 1970, with ‘Hand Of Doom’ as the sixth track, so we may have cracked the code.
Either way, check it out below – one of the best lost bootlegs ever heard from the metal pioneers.

(Excellent, always nice to hear The Sabbath & if it weren't for Black Sabbath we would not have the genre Heavy Metal...they rule the night!)
