By Paul Cashmere

L.A. Ink star Kat Von D has lost her house in the Hollywood Hills but worse for the celebrity tattooist, her cat Valentine.

“R.I.P. my little Valentine,” see tweeted not long ago. She also posted a photo of herself in the ruins with the comment “in order to gain everything, you must lose everything”.

Von D has left Los Angeles and is now on a book tour in Canada promoting her new book ‘The Tattoo Chronicles’. “I’m not cancelling the rest of the book tour,” she writes. “Rooftop and I are here in Vancouver. Thank you so much for the comforting words. Means so much”.

The fire started at 11:23PM on Saturday night.

Kat rose to fame when she appeared in the reality TV show Miami Ink. After a fallout, she moved to Los Angeles and scored her own show LA Ink filmed at her tattoo parlour High Voltage Tattoo at 1259 La Brea Avenue in Hollywood.

(So sad, must be the worst feeling being away and then hearing of your house burning and your pet dying in the fire. I'm sure there will be investigating going on. Best wishes for Kat.)
