Guns N' Roses Play Surprise Gig

Guns N' Roses Play Surprise Gig

The new incarnation of Guns N' Roses played a surprise gig at the old CBGB last night as part of New York's Fashion Week festivities. The venue, which is now the John Varvatos boutique, featured a set by newcomer band Alberta Cross before Axl Rose and Co. took the stage for a 17-song set, which included "You’re Crazy," "Mr. Brownstone," "I Used to Love Her," "Welcome to the Jungle," "Patience" and the encore of "Sweet Child O’ Mine," "This I Love" and "Night Train." Alberta Cross frontman Petter Ericson Stakee told Rolling Stone that even his band was surprised to learn that Axl was in the house. "When we turned up for soundcheck it was the first time we heard that Axl might play after us," he said. "We thought it was hilarious that we were gonna be the support band for Guns N' Roses." GNR is rumored to have another secret show on the schedule, as the New York Post mentioned a potential gig at NYC’s intimate Rose Bar.
