Robert Plant Calls Zeppelin Rumors "Ridiculous"

Robert Plant Calls Zeppelin Rumors "Ridiculous"

Ever since Led Zeppelin's one-off reunion show last December in London, rumors have been flying that the band will reunite for a tour and maybe an album, with Jason Bonham on drums, of course. However, Robert Plant may have dashed those hopes once and for all with a message on his Web site. Plant and Alison Krauss are currently finishing up the last leg of their Raising Sand tour, which wraps on October 5 in Saratoga, CA. After that, says his Web site, Plant has no intention whatsoever of touring with anyone for at least the next two years. "Contrary to a spate of recent reports, Robert Plant will not be touring or recording with Led Zeppelin. Anyone buying tickets online to any such event will be buying bogus tickets," reads the site.

"It‘s both frustrating and ridiculous for this story to continue to rear its head when all the musicians that surround the story are keen to get on with their individual projects and move forward," Plant said. "I wish Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham nothing but success with any future projects."

Back in August, Bonham announced on WCSX/Detroit that he was working on new material with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones. "I've been over [to England] a couple of times. I've been working with Jimmy and John Paul and trying to do some new material and some writing," Bonham said. "I don't know what it will be, but it will be something. At the moment, all I know is I have the great pleasure to go and jam with the two guys and start work on some material. When I get there, I never ask any questions. If I get a phone call to go and play, I enjoy every moment of it."

(Well I'm not at all happy with this news. I feel quite let down by Robert. Been a fan of his for years and years, always supporting all his artistic efforts. Here is one chance for him to create some more magick with Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and Jason Bonham and he chooses to just not even be involved. I know it's his right as an artist to do as he pleases and best of luck to him in all he does do. Just wish that for once artist looked at it from the fan's point of view. I believe if you are doing the art for your own pleasure than keep it for your own pleasure, once you share your art with the public and they love your art and hence make you a star, you should be grateful and remember why you are where you are and give a little back. I'm not asking Robert to have a massive tour with Led Zeppelin. What I would have loved to have seen as a fan is some new music that's it and if they wanted to do a few dates to support their new endeaver well that would be icing on the cake.)

Guns N Roses Album A November Release

Guns N Roses Album Prepped For November Release

by Paul Cashmere - September 27 2008

The wait for Guns N Roses `Chinese Democracy` will be over on November 25. Andy Gould, of Azoff Management, has previewed three tracks from the album for the staff of the Best Buy retail chain in the USA and indicated the long overdue album will be out by the end of November.

Gould played Best Buy employees the songs ‘Chinese Democracy’, ‘If The World’ and ‘There Was A Time’.

Best Buy will have exclusive rights to the sale of the G’n’R album, a sales strategy first used by Azoff for the release of the Eagles ‘Long Road Out Of Eden’.

Azoff, who is also masterminding the roll-out of the new AC/DC ‘Black Ice’ album, did a similar deal for Acca Dacca with Wal-Mart.

G’n’R fans got their first official taste of `Chinese Democarcy’ this week when the song ‘Shackler’s Revenge’ was released on the Rock Band 2 game.

Fans will also preview the ‘If The World’ track if they head to the new Russell Crowe movie ‘Body of Lies’. The song is played over the closing credits.

‘Chinese Democracy’ is more than a decade overdue. I believe that this time the release is going to happen.

(Well I've heard of artists taking their time to get the music out, but really I never thought that I'd take this long! Here's to GnR's Chinese Democracy getting out on time and that it was worth the long wait!!)

Zeppelin to Reunite

Led Zeppelin to Reunite

ROCK legends LED ZEPPELIN are set for a reunion tour after singer ROBERT PLANT finally caved in and agreed to join them.

Guitarist JIMMY PAGE, 64, bassist JOHN PAUL JONES, 62, and drummer JASON BONHAM, 42, had resigned themselves to touring without Plant.

They even rehearsed with stand-in singers - and one American was so impressive they were confident they could hit the road next year without Plant.

That was what finally persuaded him to return.

A source revealed: “The rest of the band had all but given up on Robert joining them, but they were determined to go ahead so had started to seriously explore other avenues.

“When Robert realised the band were serious about doing it without him, it made him think long and hard.

“He realised he couldn’t face the thought of not being involved.

“The band were over the moon when he told them the news.

“They are now forging ahead with the tour plans and they can’t wait to get on the road.”

The tour, set for next summer, follows the massive success of their one-off reunion show at London’s O2 Arena in December.

Led Zep, who have sold more than 300million albums worldwide, formed in 1968 and split up in 1980 when drummer John Bonham - father of Jason —-died aged 32.

Rolling Stone magazine dubbed them the biggest band of the ’70s.

(One can only hope that it really does happen. For me I would be happy with new music from them.)

Pink Floyd's Richard Wright Joins Syd Barrett

One of Pink Floyd's founding members, keyboardist Richard Wright, has passed away at the age of 65. Wright died Monday at his home in Britain after a battle with cancer. Wright first met Pink Floyd members Roger Waters and Nick Mason in college and joined their early band, Sigma 6. Sigma 6 eventually became Pink Floyd and Wright wrote some of the band's key songs, such as "The Great Gig In The Sky" and "Us And Them." He left the group in the early '80s but rejoined Pink Floyd for the 1987 album A Momentary Lapse of Reason and also contributed heavily to latter day Floyd records like The Delicate Sound of Thunder and The Division Bell. He last performed with the group in 2005 for Live 8. Additionally, Legacy.com has set up a guest book for fans to express their condolences. You can sign a guestbook for Richard here

(This news is so sad...Richard was always so humble and he was such a great musician and contributor to Pink Floyd. He will be missed and thought of fondly. Rest in peace sweet Richard.)

AC/DC Tour Dates

Here they are the AC/DC Tour Dates for the U.S. thus far!

As expected, iconic rockers AC/DC have rolled out plans for a massive North American tour in support of their forthcoming album, "Black Ice."

Tickets will begin hitting the box office Sept. 20, according to a press release, and additional tour dates in North and South America, Europe and Asia will be announced "shortly."

As previously reported, guitarist Angus Young has already promised that despite being 53-years-old, he will still wear the schoolboy suit onstage. "At first, when I think about 'Hey, I haven't worn it in a while,' it takes me a little bit of psychology to get into it," he recently told Rolling Stone. "But I promised myself I'm not gonna think — I'll just put it on."

AC/DC's new album, Black Ice, will be unleashed on October 20 exclusively at Wal-Mart, Sam's Club and the band's Web site. The video for the first single, "Rock 'N Roll Train," will debut September 19 on ACDC.com and VH1.com.
