Jeff Beck fights off critics Blow by Blow - A&E
The 1960s British group the Yardbirds produced three of the finest electric guitar players of the past 40 years. The first, Jimmy Page, went on to become the legendary guitar player of the super-group Led Zeppelin; the second, Eric Clapton, became a household name whose success spans five decades; the third, Jeff Beck, was arguably greater than either of them (which is no small claim) despite never reaching the same pinnacle of commercial success.
I think The Yardbirds were lucky to have had such great talent in all three guitarist: Page, Clapton, Beck. Has there been any other band where that many members were that high a caliber and all living legends?
